A lesson in oxymorons by Steven Dunn:
I honestly think the term “peaceful protest” is an impossible language trick created and upheld by people in power. “Protest” by its nature is not peaceful because it disrupts/questions the order. The people who benefit from that order do not want it protested no matter how perceived “peaceful” it is or isn’t. The only way to peacefully protest is to not protest, and that’s exactly what they mean.
