Epiphany

I want to work in both areas: experimental and lyrical.

I stumble into the reminder of humbleness--that I want my work to be empathetic and authentic. It should reveal to me something I didn't hope for or want but embrace.

Don't push for poems

I know this already. I told myself last night I wouldn't read, write, or stress out about poetry. There is a coat of ice outside cancelling everything. We are inside, Carrie is asleep, I made smoothies, and ended up reading Matthew Zapruder's Father's Day which led to four new poems. It is a relief, but I also second guess on if they really are going to be "good". This is all a part of the writing process.

West Ridge 8 Project

"Or the place that's the most fringe. Or outsider. Or whatever word fits the "punk" of Asmund's generation." Amy King on facebook responding to my post:

Asmund's response to my preference for the $3 movie theatre: Of course you do. Parents always want to go to the cheapest place.

Fringe
Outsider
Neglected
Not-Preferred
Vacant

Liminal

This was the new theatre outside the old one at the mall
Then they built the megaplex down the road
So the dollar movies are now 3.70

They actually get hindi films, indie films, films that somehow end up there while never making it to the big theatre

This is in Topeka, Kansas

Questions

What do I love about movies? The things that happen in movies? Aspects that I love? What is it about this movie that I love? How does the director autor get me to thinking about issues? How does the director autor speak through? What candy

Happy New Year

My New Year's resolution will be reading more books.

Not only just reading more books but reading the books that will correspond with what I want to write. I'm pushing the boundary trying to write more non-fiction this year.

So with that I would like to add a note about visit from the Goon Squad. It's a piece of fiction but there's a lot to learn from it. Spoiler alert!

I love reading that you think you're reading one kind of book but they ends up being another book. Another genre.

This one accomplish is it so well!

I am returning my double ganger movies because I just won't be able to see them. But I checked them out from the library they are the double life of veronique, double, and enemy.
