Let me just say this

I'm pumped up for the class that comes in a year from now. Really excited, as I go through books and get inspiration from colleagues.

Yep--colleagues. MW:
Middle French collegue, from Latin collega, from com- + legare to depute — more at legate
First Known Use: circa 1533

Origin of COLLEGE

Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin collegium society, from collega colleague — more at colleague
First Known Use: 14th century

I work at a college with colleagues.

my own hybrid writing

If I were thinking of a project with this form, I'd combine:

My mothers
Phelps
and some kind of myth

any suggestions? or research ideas? historical references in Topeka?

Hybrid Forms Writing

Great news! I've been given the okay to teach a Hybrid Forms Writing class. Call it hybrid, Docu-Poetry, whatever--it blends and blurs the lines. Thanks to Susan M. Schultz and Joe Harrington for suggestions, as they are teaching such classes this semester or next. Mine will be next fall.

Here are books I'm contemplating (with suggestion sources in parentheses):
Don’t Let Me Be Lonely by Claudia Rankine
Things Come On by Joseph Harrington
Povel by Geraldine Kim
Human Resources by Rachel Zolf
Anything published by Essay Press or DIAGRAM
1913: a journal of forms lit mag
Home / Birth : a poemic by Arielle Greenberg and Rachel Zucker
An Apparent Event: A Second Story Books Anthology by Ed. Mary Burger (Joe Harrington suggested)
The Next American Essay by Ed. John D'Agata (Joe Harrington suggested)
The Descent of Alette by Alice Notley
From Unincorporated Territory [Saina] by Craig Santos Perez (Susan M. Schultz suggested)
