Selfies and Agency

I'm also doing my own "protection spell" poetry be going through selfies I had taken with a mentor-friend who was dear to me until I found out he was making uninvited passes at colleagues, students, and other members of the poetry community. Through digital editing, I am taking the selfies I took, removing him from each photo, and replacing that space with a color and protective poem inside. I've been searching for a way to speak out against him, as well as not impose upon each survivor's agency, so through these selfies--my own agency-seeking--I am reclaiming my time of joy while excising him while asking for the protection of us all.

Why protection selfies?

They were selfies to create an agency of my joy, while he was not fully himself sharing what he was doing to others.

While I am an advocate against men's inappropriate, misogynist actions, he was making inappropriate advances toward women he had "power" over.

I do not want to take away any more power and agency from these women he has abused, assaulted.

But I can reclaim my agency through the very selfies I took of us.

Protective spells

I don't know much about actual spells but I know poetry feels like the best way to make an incantation into the world. I also have these D&D cards that have protective spells for character. I thought of that idea when I saw this poem
https://www.poetryfoundation.org/articles/153168/we-cannot-be-created-for-this-sort-of-suffering

I also want to use the image of those photos of me and a certain person that I went to protect myself against. So I'm going to manipulate the image and put the poem over where that person is as a means have a protection spell via selfie poem.
