It looks like the best way to teach this course might be to take the beginnings of the books about mythology and go over those at the beginning of the course. Then toward the end of the course we asked so what? That's when we really bring home our studies into what that means looking at the ends of chapters of books. Maybe a student besides for the final project the so what? The student includes how they will go into the world what did they want to resolve?

There are no indie series running in Iowa City IRL that I know of right now, but Jennifer MacBain Stephens is doing Today You Are Perfect online, and that might turn into IRL eventually? The Midwest Writing Center in the Quad Cities (Ryan Collins) would be my other recommendation.
While I am still learning about literary life here, I have found there are some great regular events. Marc Dickinson with DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College) runs a “Celebration of Literary Arts” festival each year that is especially notable. Their adaptation for virtual readings was really impressive. The event’s network is down right now but when it is back up, one can see the recordings on the event’s site.
